ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI
The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI is a mission boot that achieves the ideal balance between agility, lightness and stability. The HI-CUT upper provides the support needed during parachute jumping and fast roping. The upper is made from a combination of water-repellent, tear-resistant suede and abrasion-resistant, breathable CORDURA® material.
An innovative locking hook allows the lacing to be individually adjusted in the forefoot and ankle area. The waterproof, highly breathable GORE-TEX Extended Comfort footwear laminate is ideal for use in moderate or relatively wet environments. The dual-layer PU midsole with a MONOWRAP® frame surrounds and supports the foot like an exoskeleton.
The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI is certified as occupational footwear in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2012. It is anti-static and has a cold and heat-insulating sole complex. The outsole is not only anti-slip – it is also resistant to oil, petrol and contact heat.
Certified working boot according to DIN EN ISO 20347:2012
The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI has anti-slip qualities. The slip protection provides the outsole the necessary grip for firm footing during the workday.
Guaranteed weather protection even during warm temperatures: The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI is equipped with a GORE-TEX extended comfort footwear membrane. The innovative technology delivers optimal waterproof protection and breathability.
The membrane provides reliable waterproof protection. No matter what sort of activity you may be planning, you can count on GORE-TEX technology to keep your feet pleasantly dry.
Designed with optimal breathability in mind, GORE-TEX shoes are a pleasure to wear even during intense activities and warm weather. Water cannot penetrate the footwear, and moisture produced inside the shoe escapes through billions of pores in the GORE-TEX membrane.
The GORE-TEX membrane dependably fights off the wind and the weather. As a result, you can head off on a tour no matter what the weather is like.
Thanks to the two-zone lacing system used in the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI, the forefoot and upper have their own separately adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the shoe can be individually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and laced in different ways for ascents and descents.
To provide effective cushioning and improved comfort, the sole of the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI is bonded to the upper in a technically demanding injection process. The upper boot is placed into a specially designed mould. Various layers of PU foam padding are then poured into it. In the process, the sole and upper are bonded together.
This process uses a plastic called polyurethane. It is a very lightweight foam padding.
The plastic called polyurethane is a foam padding that has very good cushioning properties. The plastic retains its form and springs back to its original condition even when its millions of tiny bubbles are frequently pressed together. This, in turn, creates a good rebound effect.
Thanks to direct injection, the sole can be designed in a very large number of ways. The multifaceted properties of the materials used enable the shoes to be effective in a broad number of areas.
With the LOWA-MONOWRAP® frame, the midsole of the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI provides the very best comfort. This three-dimensional midsole design was developed by LOWA in 1995. The frame comfortably cradles the foot and support it when the shoe wearer ventures across uneven surfaces. The sole design is slightly raised for shoes with a STABILITY FRAME.
The foot is optimally nestled into the shoe thanks to the frame’s three-dimensional design.
The special midsole design ensures snug footing in the shoe. The foot is pleasantly cradled by the three-dimensional frame.
The LOWA-MONOWRAP® is made of a plastic called polyurethane. It is a very lightweight material.
The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI is equipped with lacing hooks with a closed design. They guide the laces very securely and keep them from getting caught upon contact with objects.

The sole meets the highest anti-slip standards. Slip protection depends primarily on the design and rubber compound of the outsole. The shoe provides optimal slip protection on slick, wet and oily surfaces, as well as good grip on terrain.
An outsole designed by LOWA with an optimised rubber compound to provide good grip.
Polyurethane (PU) is a soft plastic that has very good cushioning properties and is usually used in the midsole as a result. Through the use of PU, the soles become lightweight and functionally flexible.

Polyamides are plastics that are synthesised and can be used to produce man-made fibres as a result. In addition to their toughness, polyamides are known for their form stability, tear and abrasion resistance and waterproof qualities. Polyamides are also elastic, very stretchy and high gloss.
Suede leather comes from the flesh side of the hide. It has a looser fibre structure, a quality that creates a velvety surface and a light pile. Suede leather is particularly durable and open-pored. Depending on the desired look, suede leather can remain untreated or be oiled or waxed.
Our natural and synthetic fabrics facilitate optimal warming and moisture management with the help of their usage-specific characteristics. Thanks to their structural design, they are smooth and make our products extremely comfortable.
